Update:

Well, American Huntress can no longer be the first hunting magazine for women. :( I found out yesterday, the Woman Hunter, which used to be an e-zine, was just published. But, I am still going forth with my idea and I am excited as ever! I think American Huntress still has its own special niche and this is not about to stop me! I have finished my proposal and am working on the publishing plan and prototype. May 8th is the day that I present it all to a publisher! Then we will find out where this whole thing may take me! :) Wish me luck!

I would also like to thank all the people that I have talked to. Everyone has been so wonderfully supportive and made this experience so remarkable, even if it happens to not work out. Thank you.

God bless the huntress!

American Huntress

Welcome to the American Huntress magazine blog! I created this magazine just for women who hunt, but it is only an idea right now. I would love to someday be able to publish this magazine. Please leave feed back and let me know what you think about American Huntress.
American Huntress is a quarterly, lifestyle magazine geared to support women who are proud to hunt, yet proud to be feminine! The magazine includes huntress stories, ideas, field tips, new releases, facts and more, as well as including sections and ads for fitness, health, beauty, cooking, products and clothing all with the huntress in mind.

According to a 2005 survey by the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA), the number of women hunting with firearms increased 72 percent in just four years, and women hunting with a bow increased 176 percent. Overall, the percent of women hunters jumped 75 percent to an estimated 3 million, and as many as 5 million women shoot on a regular basis. With 3 million strong, we deserve to have a magazine just for us! And let's face it... we make hunting look good. Let me know if you support this!!! Help me make American Huntress come true!

Question for fellow huntresses, would you subscribe to a hunting magazine just for women?
